Job Responsibilities

• Conduct and/or coordinate ongoing training and guidance of Coordinators, Residential Companions, Residential Aides, and temporary staff.
• Coordinate with Director, Community Homes; Program Specialist; and/or Community Homes Nurse to provide house orientation and on-the-job training for new hires.
• Monitor and evaluate staff performance, including, but not limited to, performance evaluations, counseling, and disciplinary actions.
• Assist in interviewing applicants and make recommendations on new hires to the Director, Community Homes.
• Responsible for staff scheduling, including, but not limited to, work assignments/ rotations, staff training, staff vacations, overtime assignments, and back-up for absent staff.
• Ensure appropriate coverage in the event of a staff vacancy by either assigning qualified staff or, if applicable, must be able to perform essential functions of staff positions.
• Establish an individualized professional growth plan for each staff, in conjunction with staff's input; conduct staff performance reviews; and follow-up on staff progress.
• Evaluate information to determine compliance and comply with standards; 6400 regulations; Agency policies, procedures, and rules; and all other applicable regulations.
• Supervise staff and ensure staff compliance in accordance with all legal, regulatory, and licensing requirements and Agency policies, procedures, and rules.
• Review and work with the Director, Community Homes; Program Specialist; and/or Community Homes Nurse on responsibilities regarding the Community Home, binders, finances, etc. to ensure compliance with state and licensing requirements and Agency policies and procedures.
• Ensure the Community Homes are in good condition and operating in accordance with fire and safety rules and regulations.
• Report all incidents involving clients to the designated Agency Point Person by following Home & Community Services Information System (HCSIS) guidelines.
• Oversee client health appointments, annually and as needed, for medical, dental, vision, auditory, psychiatric care, etc., to ensure compliance with licensing regulations.
• Monitor and evaluate expenses of the assigned Community Home to ensure the program is run efficiently as well as economically. Review the budget and maintain line items within budgetary allocations from general ledger.
• Act as the primary liaison with operational and administrative departments within the Agency, as well as with interdisciplinary team members, other agencies, families of clients, etc.
• Coordinate and participate in an on-call rotation with the Director, Community Homes.
• Monitor and address compliance with standards by performing random, unannounced Community Home visits outside of routinely scheduled working hours in coordination with the Director, Community Homes.
• Review, complete, and/or authorize all required Personnel forms/paper work (i.e., Time Sheets, Expense Sheets) and submit in a timely fashion.
• Review, address discrepancies, and sign Medication Administration Records monthly.
• Review Human Resources training/supervisor reports and follow-up as needed.
• Respond appropriately to the needs of the assigned partner house as needed.
• Hold staff accountable for the care and safety of clients by imposing disciplinary action, including suspension, when warranted.
• Report to work if an emergency situation should arise, if required by the Director, Community Homes.
• Schedule and conduct staff meetings at least every other month.
• Attend conferences and Agency team meetings as required (including Agency Communication Team meetings).
• Travel on business as required.
• Comply with confidentiality policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, the Health Insurance and Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
• Work on-call as necessary, 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
• Perform the duties of a Medication Administration Trainer.

Job Requirements

One of the following:
• A minimum of six months experience working under 6400, 6500, and/or 2380 regulations
• Bachelor's Degree and 1 year experience working directly with persons with disabilities
• Associate Degree and 2 years experience working directly with persons with disabilities
• 5 years experience working directly with persons with disabilities
Valid Pennsylvania driver's license
Supervisory experience preferred
